導演利用了一個很平淡, 很溫和的方法來表達出這部作品來, 這一個可說是一個很殘酷的恐怖故事, 其實導演將男主角先設計成一個很恐怖, 難以接受的角色 (由影像可見), 及後當男主角Theo出獄後, 導演則把男主角設計成一個很懦弱很無助的男人, 這一點導演花了不少心思作一個開端

還有甚麼好說,有人花七年時間做訪問找資料然後拍一套關於「罪咎感」的電影。老實講《自由煉獄》我不知在德國是否都是猛烈的個人沉思飛地得很,在香港我都九分肯定觀眾(包括我)覺得這是天外飛仙不著邊際。這我想是我們感覺結構的問題

近年的台灣電影,是很文化劇目,無可否認是有不少頗佳導演,但屬悶藝性質,但台劇卻很有活力,「刺青」其實也滲透著傳統台灣文化劇情內容,但卻包裝得很有時代感,也緊貼現今時下年青人用語,卻是值得一讚,而且內容並不單薄,當中包括時下心態與人與人的感情關係,它能夠拿Teddy Bear大獎也是有其理由。

Before the Flood (Mainland China, 2004) (淹沒)
Filmed, like Jia’s works, in the ancient walled town of Fengjie after orders had been passed for its evacuation and abandonment… it features a camera that was able to unflinchingly record a tremendous lot, including quite a bit of anger, frustration, hopelessness and misery on the part of more than one hapless member of the town’s community…
To say the least: This is not an easy film to watch…

Li is chiefly known for his costume pictures, though he reveals a talent for more intimate fare, as seen in The Winter (1969), which I commented on earlier. His early HK films, like Lady in Distress (1957) and A Mellow Spring (1957), are fairly typical Mandarin-language melodramas, with comparatively high production values and centering on suffering heroines…
Li’s direction here is simple and traditional. He uses fairly distant staging, presenting shot/ reverse-shot breakdown of dialogues and camera movements that adjust to the characters’ movements…

很久很久沒有在電影院裡看過這麼悶的電影, 我不多不少也睡著了27次。朋友說是否像《長恨歌》般的難看, 我答道《長恨歌》好看三倍有多!
字幕有字幕的說, 畫面有畫面的去, 劇情有劇情的不清不楚發展。
《This Film is Not Yet Rated》 (美國) : (”本片尚未分級”)
導演向美國電檢處MPAA挑戰之作。這記錄片說的主題雖不是環繞著什麼大事件, 但也反映了一些”傳統黑箱作業、小圈子、官商勾結、有人只係打算做好自己份工”這種制度下的一些社會漏洞…

敬佩羅馬尼亞人的是, 電影並沒有評論革命的好或壞, 沒有力竭聲嘶批判以前, 也沒有哭哭啼啼的回顧以前的悲慘歲月, 而是重新拾起那一段歷史, 面對這段歷史, 歷史不一定沉重, 也不一定要銘記在心. 偶爾開個玩笑, 然後引發深思, 歷史是什麼, 是你的回憶, 是我們的回憶, 還是一種書寫? 如電影最後一幕, 在那個夜幕蒼茫的下雪夜晚, 守著孤燈, 悠然而思, 那一刻, 我在做什麼.(…閱讀全文)

含劇情描述
也不知這是優點還是缺點, 本片繼承了英國電影注重故事細節的特色, 在影片前半段將故事內的各項細節慢慢交代組織, 佈局完成後觀眾突然對劇情恩由豁然開朗, 再緊接被帶領往結局高潮. 安排超卓但所犠牲的, 便是其前半段的緩慢沉悶感, 需要觀眾集中精神, 用心記憶其細節才行. 若抱著看一部娛樂電影的觀眾很可能會大失所望了.(…閱讀全文)

電影開場編排幾特別,不是由「好耐好耐以前…」開始,而是惡後母已經帶領著一大班童話惡人:傑克豆巨人、三隻小豬餓狼、童話女巫三人組等等,成功侵入了童話王國——然後再來個倒帶大剖白,從頭說明事情經過。(…閱讀全文)
