It’s a very charming movie, very sincere, and non-cynical about human nature. Actually, I’m hoping there’s a non-cynicism movement beginning in cinema — the sincerity and optimism about people and their motivations was one of the reasons I liked GOAL!, which I just saw on campus here, so much. Following a long festival tradition, the HKIFF opened Tuesday night with two opening night films, Johnny To’s Election 2 and Pang Ho-cheung’s Isabella. Election 2 had all the qualities of an “opening night” film. Last days 的真真假假
基本上, Last Days 裡面的情節都似真非真, 似假非假: Kurt 的避世, Nirvana 隊員之間之疏離, 驟眼看上去好像蠻可信, 但是細心想想, Nirvana 與 Kurt Cobain 雖然一向新聞多多, 但這些報導到底有多真確, 實在成疑… 不過全片最厲害的一幕, 是Gus Vant Sant 竟然邀得Sonic Youth 的 Kim Gordon 於片中客串了一場. 熟悉Nirvana 的人都知道當年就Sonic Youth 介紹了Nirvana 給subpop唱片公司, 造就了 Nirvana 這個經典.
